Get here early so you can take full advantage of all the great events! If you are unable to make it on Thursday we will re-open registration on Friday at 9am at the City Center meeting room 1. Beer Week at The Local

Come join us this weekend for a full weekend of great BEER! Nothing new there, but this weekend does kick-off Saratoga Beer Week. We are going to get it started tomorrow night with a sampling of our drafts. $5 gets you (4) 3oz. samples of your choice from our 10 taps. That’s right, you pick them, we pour them. This starts at 5pm on Thursday and continues Friday and Saturday night. Also, on Friday and Saturday night we will be featuring a Beer pairing with our dinner specials. We have some rare brews for you to have with your meal this weekend, which we know will blow you away. The guys in the kitchen did a great job too of getting some awesome specials together for this weekend as well. We don’t wanna give it all away, so just stop on down and see what’s happening this weekend at The Local! It should be a great weekend for beer, food, and fun!

Saratoga’s beer bar, over 60 draft lines, and five floors of fun! Beer and food specials throughout the evening and great mug club specials as well. The “I Love NY Brew” pub crawl kicks off here at 5pm which is a perfect time to purchase your Saratoga City Tavern – Beer Week t-shirt…get them before they are gone. Starting at 7pm join the Lake Placid and Saranac team on the first floor and stick around for some karaoke. Second floor kicks off with Davidson and Peak Organic promotions from 6pm to 10pm. Have you ever wanted to learn how a brewery decides on which direction they are going with the different seasonal brews? Well we have the answers for you…actually we found the right people with these answers.
Homebrew 101 – This event has been moved to Saratoga Beer Summit Session 1 on Saturday – Roger and Russell Savoy of the Homebrew Emporium will discuss and demonstrate how to make that perfect home brew for the beginner or pick up new tips for the advanced home brewer. Food Pairing 101 – Greg Engert of Birch and Barley and Churchkey in Washington DC will discuss how to pair food and beer at home or when you are out at your favorite restaurant. Read Greg’s Bio.
Decisions Of A Brew Master – Andy Schwarz, head brew master for Redhook, Widmer, and Kona will be speaking on the thoughts and decisions which go into picking that perfect seasonal brew. Andy will speak for about 20 minutes and then answer questions from the crowd. (CLICK FOR BIO)

Don’t you wish they offered these classes in school!? Getting back to our roots while we discuss the influx of hops back into our region as well as how to grow hops in your backyard. If your hops grow well, you learn how to make a great beer, and now what? Yes, we will even educate you on the ins and outs of a small and large craft brewery.
Anheuser-Busch Artisan Brewing, Crafting a Quality Beer – Adon Allen, Brewing Ambassador with Anheuser-Busch will take you through the steps of operating a larger brewery while keeping the “Craft” of the process in tact. Adon will be on hand to answer questions many may have about what goes on at the larger brewing houses in America. This is a “I Love NY Brew” event and speaks to what New York and brewing is all about, also where it is headed.
How to Hops 101 – Michael Roffman, founder and general manager at Atlantic Hops and Gregg Baimel, head of market development for Gorst Valley Hops will discuss hop production in our region and how to get started for either beginners or hop aficionados. Read Michael’s Bio or Read Gregg’s Bio.

We will take you around the world in three and a half hours starting in Saratoga traveling through the Northeast across the seas to Ireland, Belgium, and Germany. If you want to continue on your international travels we have you covered, otherwise its back to the West Coast and maneuvering back to beautiful upstate New York. Yes, we are drinking you around the world at this International brewery event. Also don’t forget The Saratoga Beer Summit kicks off the seasonal spring collection for most breweries, do you need any more reasons??

Welcome to the main event!! This isn’t your normal beer festival, craft brew festival, or beer fest. We will take you around the world in three and a half hours starting in Saratoga traveling through the Northeast across the seas to Ireland, Belgium, and Germany. If you want to continue on your international travels we have you covered, otherwise its back to the West Coast and maneuvering back to beautiful upstate New York. Yes, we are drinking you around the world at this International brewery event. Also don’t forget The Saratoga Beer Summit kicks off the seasonal spring collection for most breweries, do you need any more reasons??

Some of the finest beers in the country, Widmer Brothers, are coming together with the outstanding culinary team of the Olde Bryan Inn. Brewmaster Andy Schwartz will be on hand to walk you through the finer points of pairing beer with food.

It has been a great weekend of great beers from near and far. Let’s end it at Irish Times with the local brews of Davidson Brothers. Brewmaster Jason Kissinger and owner Rick Davidson will be on hand to talk beer and even drink a few with you. Live music on hand throughout the evening!
Freshly tapped Cask Beer will on hand for this event and LongTrail Brewery will be sharing some of the rarest beers they offer. LIVE MUSIC starts at 9:30pm with “Gravity” entertaining us all night.

Enjoy company of owner and brewer Jason Mclellan as he walks you through the appreciation of cask conditioned beers and traditional Scottish ales from which they are derived. A beer inspired bar menu will be available for those not on a strict liquid diet!
